Official: Russia readies licenses to export lead
MOSCOW, Jul 6 (PRIME) – The Russian authorities have prepared the licenses for companies to start exports of lead and can grant them after the government issues the amendments to an order, a spokesperson for the Industry and Trade Ministry told PRIME on Wednesday.
"The plants producing secondary lead have prepared documents to receive licenses under the new requirements,” he said. “We confirm that the licenses for Fregat and other companies are ready for issuance."
Business daily Kommersant reported that one of the country's largest producers of secondary lead Fregat was suspended due to a prohibition on exports without licenses and the impossibility to get them.
The official added that licensing was introduced to stimulate facilities to introduce deep all-encompassing processing of used lead-acid batteries.
